Finally, Sony Launches Xperia With Quad Core Processors


It took a long time before Sony launches first smartphone by quad-core processors. It happened on Monday (01/07/2013) yesterday in CES 2013, Sony introduced its newest smartphone, Xperia Z.

Excerpted from The Verge, this device is Android Smartphone by large screen, fit the growing trend among manufacturers of Android devices. Xperia Z has a 5-inch landscape display with a resolution of Full-HD (1920×1080).

The device previously known by the code name “Yuga” has a box-shaped body and covered with glass so it looks beautiful, it looks like the smartphone from Apple.

Not only that, the high-end phone with a weight of 140 grams and a thickness of only 7.9 mm it also has the ability to withstand water and dust by IP55 and IP57 certification. That is, it can take a dive in the water by a depth of 1 meter for 30 minutes. So although the wet conditions, you can still use it because you have supported smartphone Wet Finger Tracking Technology from Sony.

Viewed from specs, the smartphone is pretty convincing. Xperia Z is a smartphone with a quad-core processor (Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro 1.5 GHz) combined with 2 GB of RAM support for 4G / LTE, 16 GB internal memory which can be expanded with a micro-SD card up to 32 GB, and 13 megapixel camera .

For the operating system, this smartphone comes with Android version 4.1 spiked with Sony’s own user interface with the look of the launcher, home screen and lock screen modified. And Opera system, according to Sony, can be upgraded to Android 4.2 after it was released later. Later, Xperia Z planned to be available in three colors, namely black, white, and purple.

Besides Xperia Z which is a series of flagship products rival Samsung Galaxy S III and iPhone 5 from Apple, Sony also announced the Xperia ZL were previously known by the code name “Odin“.

Both phones like the twins from the same hardware specifications and appearance are similar. The difference is, at the back of the Xperia ZL uncoated glass but is made of plastic material slightly convex. This smartphone also has the ability to hold water like a “brother“, the Xperia Z. Battery capacity is also mentioned smaller.

There is still no information about price and availability of the two flagship devices from Sony’s. However, Sony said it will hold a “global rollout” in the first quarter.

    Interesting Post, Hello friends
    I m looking for a great phone . I think xperia z and xperia zl are two best phone . But galaxy note 2 is also good phone and samsung also planning to launch it’s galaxy s4
    So should I go for xperia z . I think it is perfect for me . It’s specifications are same as I want 5” screen 13 megapixel camera quad core 1.5 ghz processor and 443ppi (really sharp screen).
    And galaxy s4 has same features but I have to wait (march 2013.)
    So is Sony phones are good because this is my first time to go with sony , or I should wait for s4 ?
